Redcast is a pop/rock act formed in 2012. The band is known for delivering pop hooks in the guise of indie rock, all with a decidedly retro spin, citing 1960’s bands like the Monkees and the Lovin’ Spoonful as major influences. This everything-old-is-new approach has prompted critics to suggest that “Redcast ventures into unseen territory, bridging the gap between what we listen to and what our parents listen to.” (Scope Magazine).
By the time Redcast self-released Talend Show Runner-Ups, their single “Brite Black Suit” had already edged onto the iTunes Top 100 Alternative Albums chart, simultaneously garnering liberal amounts of airplay on Portland’s 94.7 KNRK; the same radio station that later named Redcast one of the “Top 5 Bands in Portland.” Armed with their unique brand of throwback rock ‘n’ roll sensibilities, this fresh faced quintet is on a mission to “inject a much needed dose of retro pop musical sunshine” into the scene.
